Size: 6¾ to 7¼

REQUIREMENTS:
YARN: 2-ounces of Sport Yarn
NEEDLES: 1-pr #2 single pointed

GAUGE: 8½ sts to an inch. 7 rows to an inch.

   RIGHT GLOVE: Cast on 56 sts and work in ribbing of k 2, p 2 for 3-inches. Now work in the following: PATTERN: ROW 1: K 11, p 2, k 4, p 2, k 37. ROW 2: P 37, k 2, p 4, k 2, p 11. ROW 3: Repeat row 1. ROW 4: Repeat row 2. ROW 5: K 11, p 2, slip the next 2 sts onto a dble pointed needle and hold in back of work, knit the next 2 sts, knit the next 2 sts off the dble pt needle, p 2, k 37. ROW 6: P 37, k 2, p 4, k 2, p 11. Repeat these 6 rows for the pattern. (Note: Carry pattern through until the beginning of the fingers). Work until the piece measures 5¼-inches in all, ending with a knit row. THUMB OPENING: Purl 16 sts; place these sts onto a thread; purl the next 10 sts, leave on the needle; place the remaining sts onto a 2nd thread. Cast on 5 sts onto the needle; knit these 15 sts; cast on 5 sts, now working on these 20 sts in stockinette stitch for the thumb until the piece measures 2¼-inches, ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts together across the next row. Thread a darning needle and draw through the remaining sts. Fasten on the wrong side. Sew up thumb. Place the 30 sts off 2nd thread onto the needle, tie yarn in, knit across these sts; pick up and knit 10 sts at base of thumb; knit 16 sts off thread. Work in the pattern for 21-rows (about 2 inches), ending with a purl row.
   1st FINGER: Knit 20 sts, place these sts onto a thread; knit the next 17 sts, leave on the needle; place the remaining 19 sts onto a thread. Purl across the 17 sts that are on the needle, cast on 2 sts. Now work in stockinette stitch for 2½-inches, ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts together across next row. Finish tip as on thumb. Sew up finger.
   2nd FINGER: With the right side of the work facing you take 7-sts from first thread, (those nearest the first finger) onto a needle. Tie yarn in, cast on 3 sts, knit these 10 sts; pick up and knit 3 sts at the base of the first finger; knit 7-sts off 2nd thread. On these 20 sts work in stockinette stitch for 3-inches, ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts together across next knit row. Finish as other finger.
   3rd FINGER: Take 6 sts from first thread and place onto the needle. Tie yarn in, cast on 3 sts, knit these 9 sts; pick up and knit 3 sts at base of 2nd finger; knit 6 sts from thread. On these 18 sts, work in stockinette stitch for 2½-inches, ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts together across next row. Finish as other fingers.
   LITTLE FINGER: Place the sts from first thread onto the needle. Tie yarn in and knit these 7 sts; pick up and knit 3 sts at base of 3rd finger; knit 6 sts from 2nd thread. Work in stockinette stitch from 2¼-inches, ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts together across next row. Finish as other finger and continue to sew down side.
   LEFT GLOVE: Work cuff as on the right one. PATTERN: ROW 1: K 37, p 2, k 4, p 2, k 11. ROW 2: P 11, k 2, p 4, k 2, p 37. ROW 3: Repeat row 1. ROW 4: Repeat row 2. ROW 5: K 37, p 2, cable on the next 4 sts, p 2, k 11. ROW 6: P 11, k 2, p 4, k 2, p 37. Repeat these 6 rows for the pattern. Work until the piece measures 5¼-inches in all, ending with a knit row. THUMB OPENING: Work 30 sts; place these onto a stitch holder, work the next 10 sts and leave on the needle; place the remaining 16 sts onto a thread. Cast on 5 sts at each side of the thumb sts and work as other thumb. Continue to work glove to correspond to right one until you come to the first finger, ending with a purl row. 1st FINGER: K 19 sts; place these sts onto a thread; knit the next 17 sts, cast on 2 sts onto the needle; place the remaining sts onto a thread. Finish this finger and remainder of the fingers to correspond to right glove.
