Warmer climates beckon and now we find our lady of fashion on the Miami Golf Course (after a brief stay at Pinehurst, N.C. where she won a trophy).  She is wearing a two-piece suit, skirt and jacket and if you notice the jacket buttons down the front and has short sleeves that give plenty of elbow room for that stance and swing. Keep your eye on the Ball!

Needles—1 pair American Standard No. 3.
Material—1 two-ounce ball Sport yarn.
Gauge—7 sts to 1 inch.

BLOUSE

   Cast on 20 sts, K 1, P 1, for 5 rows. K 1 row, increasing 6 sts at equal distances apart. P 1 row, K 1 row, until piece measures 1½ inches from start. Bind off 2 sts on each side for underarm. Work even for 1 inch. K 5 sts (put on safety pin) bind off 12 sts for back of neck, K 5. On these 5 sts, work 5 rows for shoulder, cast on 8 sts for front, K back. On purled rows always K last 3 sts for border at front. Work even for 1 inch. At armhole edge cast on 3 sts, work even for 1¼ inches. On next K row dec 3 sts. K 1, P 1, for 5 rows, bind off. Work other side to correspond.

SLEEVES

   On right side, pick up 6 center sts, P back, pick up 2 sts, turn, K 2, inc 1 st in each of the next 6 sts, pick up 2 sts. Pick up 2 sts at end of each row (30 sts). K 1 row, P 1 row for 2 rows. On next K row dec 6 sts. K 1, P 1 for 4 rows, bind off.

NECK BAND

   Pick up 34 sts, K 1, P 1 for 4 rows, bind off.

SKIRT

   With No. 3 needles, cast on 110 sts, K 3 rows. P 1 row, K 1 row for 3 rows. Next row, * K 8, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row. Work 3 rows even. K 7, K 2 tog. Now dec every 4th row, having 1 st less between each dec, until you have 44 sts. Work 4 rows even. K 1, P 1 for 5 rows, bind off.

PANTS

   Cast on 24 sts, K 1, P 1 for 4 rows. K 1 row increasing 5 sts, P 1 row, K 1 row for 1½ inches. Bind off 4 sts at beg of the next 6 rows. On center 5 sts, K 1 row, P 1 row for 6 rows. Cast on 4 sts at beginning of the next 6 rows (29 sts). K 1 row, P 1 row, for 1½ inches. Dec 5 sts, K 1, P 1 for 4 rows, bind off. Sew up seams on blouse and sew buttons on left side. Push buttons thru knitted sts. Sew up skirt and panties. With embroidering needle tape yarn thru top of panties and tie. Finish skirt in same manner. S c around panties.
